Caesalpinia pulcherrima 'Dwarf Poinciana' - is native of the tropics and subtropics of the Americas. It is most commonly named 'Dwarf Poinciana' or 'Peacock Flower'. It is an evergreen that can be considered a large shrub or small tree, because of its size. In cultivation, it averages 8 to 12 feet in height. In the tropics, it can grow as tall as 15 to 20 feet tall. Its foliage is flat, fern-like leaflets. The Dwarf Poinciana's blooms are very distinctive. They are brilliant colors of red, orange and yellow with long red stamens as accents. This plant enjoys full sun to light shade and loves heat.
