Its inflorescence is one of the most beautiful of all bananas. Now literally every U.S. state can grow a banana outside in certain microclimates. Great Banana plant to grow
From experience and seeing it grow in this area, the best spot for the banana plant is to located it against a south wall of your house.. Here it gets the warmth of the building and more protection of the rhizome structure in the winter time... It will grow to 20 feet if this an all day full sun sight in one summer.. .. Many sucker shoots will appear later on , that can be divided out to make new plants. It is well worth the price to have the tropics in your yard... Mulch it in the fall with leaves..
