'Simmonds' (possibly from a seed of Pollock). This large avocado is oblong to pear-shaped; it has smooth light green skin and good flavor. Medium sized seeds. Simmonds bears more regularly than Pollock but is less vigorous.

Persea americana 'Choquette' - also known as the Florida avocado is a Guatemalan-West Indies hybrid. Its fruit is of great quality and produces a good quantity as well. The fruit is about 6 inches long and 1 to 3 lbs. in weight. The fruit is oval shaped with a shiny, smooth green skin. The tree itself is medium-sized and makes a great shade tree. The 'Choquette' enjoys full sun. It should be kept moist, but allow for good drainage. Harvest time is late September to mid-January.
